Sea turtle fossils found belonged to largest ever to live in Europe

A fossil fossil was found in the Pyrenees mountains in northeastern Spain in 2016 and 2021. Paleontologists believe it's the largest sea turtle ever found in Europe. The new species, Leviathanochelys aenigmatica, lived 72.1 to 83.6 million years ago.
